International Collaboration: USK Physics Department Presents IIUM Experts in Guest Lecture

Banda Aceh, February 10 2025 – As part of efforts to expand academic networks and internationalisation of higher education, the Physics Department of Syiah Kuala University (USK) held an International Guest Lecture, which presented three academics from the Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

This activity took place on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Multipurpose Auditorium FMIPA USK, and was attended by lecturers, students, and technology and education activists from various circles.

This guest lecture is part of the monthly seminar of USK’s Master of Physics Study Program, which is designed to increase students’ understanding of global scientific and technological developments and strengthen international cooperation.

The event, which started at 10.00 am, featured three keynote speakers from IIUM:

– Dr. Mohd Khairul Azmi Hassan, with the material “Digital Skills for the Modern World”, discussing the importance of digital competencies in the industrial era 4.0.

– Dr. Ahmad Anwar Zainuddin, with the topic “Securing Tomorrow: Blockchain, IoT, and Artificial Intelligence Convergence at IIUM”, reviewed the synergy between cutting-edge technology and its role in the education and industrial sectors.

– Dr. Amir’ Aatieff Amir Hussin presented the topic “Islamic Education and the Challenge of Artificial Intelligence”, highlighting the challenges and opportunities AI offers to the Islamic education system.

– Dr. Rajbussalim, M.Sc., M.InfoTech, a lecturer at the USK Physics Department with expertise in information technology, moderated the session.

In addition to the material presentation, the event was equipped with an interactive discussion session, allowing participants to dig deeper into the speakers’ thoughts. High enthusiasm was evident from the many questions and the dynamic discussion that developed.

As a form of appreciation, all participants received e-certificates as documentation of participation in this academic activity.

This activity marks a strong commitment between USK and IIUM in building sustainable academic synergies, especially in technological innovation and education. In the future, the USK Physics Department will continue to present international experts to enrich students’ insights and improve the competitiveness of graduates at the global level.
