Academic Orientation for New Master’s Students in Physics at FMIPA USK in 2025

Banda Aceh, August 16, 2025 – The Master’s Program in Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Syiah Kuala University, held its Academic Orientation for New Students (Pakarmaru) on Friday, August 15, 2025. The event was conducted online via Zoom and brought together the entire academic community of the program.

Participants included lecturers, educational staff, and new students, consisting of 14 regular students and 5 fast-track students. Their presence marks an important first step in embarking on an advanced academic journey at the master’s level.

In his welcoming remarks, the Head of the Master’s Program in Physics, Prof. Dr. Muksin, S.Si., M.Si., M.Phil, extended a warm greeting to the new students. He underscored the importance of fostering a spirit of learning, research collaboration, and academic integrity from the very beginning of their studies. He also highlighted that the program not only focuses on strengthening theoretical foundations in physics but also on developing impactful research that contributes to science and society.

The orientation further introduced students to the curriculum structure, lecture system, academic facilities, as well as opportunities for research and publication. It also provided a platform for interaction between students, lecturers, and staff, fostering a collegial and family-like atmosphere from the start.

Through this activity, it is expected that new students will adapt smoothly to the academic environment and be motivated to achieve excellence throughout their studies in the Master’s Program in Physics, FMIPA USK.
